The Pumphreys Viennese is a mixture of roasted and ground coffee and roasted and ground fig of which not less than 85% is coffee and which contains no substance other than roasted coffee and fig.
The popularity of this style of coffee can perhaps be explained by the sweetening and smoothing effect of the fig seasoning.

I first sampled viennese coffee in the early 70s in a cafe on the south coast and fell in love with the aroma and flavour.Now after nearly 40 years I have found a company who has a blend which is even better! The ease of ordering and incredibly quick delivery make Pumphreys a company who I will be ordering from on a regular basis.

I haven’t had Viennese coffee for some years – it’s hard to find – and was pleased to discover it online. Delivery was very quick – within a day or two – and the coffee itself is excellent, very smooth, without the abrasive edge of some other coffees.

I always make sure I have this coffee to drink while watching the New Year’s Day concert from Vienna. It brings back memories of the time I spent in Munich in the late ’60s – but at the end of the day, it is just a thoroughly enjoyable drink!

I used to buy Viennese coffee with figs back in the 1960s when I was a student and despaired of ever finding it again, since the original product I was acquiring went out of business. A chance look online brought Pumphrey’s Viennese to my attention. It is even better than my memory evokes the flavour. It is rapidly becoming a regular purchase: marvellous for its subtle but deep taste.

Many years ago my parents treated themselves to Viennese coffee with fig flavouring. I thought I would do the same, I was greatly disappointed in your coffee—-there was very little or no flavour even with double themeasure ie 2 d/spoons. Such a shame

I was a child in Northumberland and used to pass Pumphreys, with its aroma of roasting coffee, before crossing the road to the Central Station and thence to my grandparents in Harrogate. My parents only drank tea, though they did keep Camp coffee for those who drank that sort of thing.
When as a student I met my girlfriend, later my wife, I was introduced to real coffee and when I met her mother it was Blue Danube in the percolator. My visits to Pumphreys became more numerous on my way to the station and then stopped with the metro and the convenience of car transport.
I felt the need for Viennese coffee for my coffee filter using what the Austrians call the Karlsbader method.
I like this brew, can taste the figs so I will reorder.

I have tried fresh coffee from all over the country with all sorts of claims about how good they are, unfortunately most do not match the label so to speak! Pumphreys Viennese with fig seasoning however ticks every box for me, exceptional flavour and aroma and no bitter aftertaste which many others have, taken black or white it is an exceptionally moreish coffee

I can safely say this is with out shadow of a doubt the best viennese coffee I have ever had the pleasure of drinking.
When ever we serve this at a diner party the guests will ask what type of coffee we are drinking and where can they get some! You cannot get a better accolade than that !!!
