Our special blend is one of our most popular coffee blends and has been a top seller for several years. As experienced coffee roasters in Newcastle we know how to create delicious flavour blends that everyone can enjoy whether you’re new to coffee or a keen consumer.
Pumphreys special blend is medium strength with a mouth-watering and nutty aftertaste that is best enjoyed black to appreciate all the subtleties of the coffee.

Having encountered this coffee several years ago, we have continued to enjoy the smooth blend and fine aroma. It is not too strong nor too mild – so guess it is about a 4 on the usual scale. Our guests are always pleased to be served with a cup after a meal.

Have been using Pumphrey’s special blend for several years since we first tasted it in a Farm shop cafe in Northumberland. When looking round the farm shop afterwards, we found this on sale and bought two packets. It tasted just as good when we percolated this at home. It is a fine taste slightly stronger than some of the products sold as strength 3 but not as harsh as some sold at Strength 4 or 5.

My wife and I discovered Pumphrey’s on one of our weekly trips to Newcastle some years ago and use about a kilo a month. Their range of coffees is amazing, but all wonderful. We wouldn’t dream of buying coffee elsewhere. Now we go to the North East less often we use their mail order service which is easy and very efficient.

I use it in both my coffee press and machine. It tastes great in both and produces a wonderfully balanced cup of coffee that’s not too strong/weak but is very smooth.
This is my favourite now and although I’d like to try different types, I’m sure this will remain a firm favourite.
